Located on E. Busch Blvd., Busch Gardens is an ideal way to spend a day away from the beach. It is both a theme park and an animal reserve and combines live theatrical shows with shops and restaurants. The one theme which draws all this together is that of the African continent and its animals. For example, the garden's most spectacular ride, Gwazi, a wooden roller-coaster, is named after a fabled lion. You can choose to embark on an adventure safari of its huge animal population including hippos, crocodiles, gorillas and baboons. It is hard to highlight one feature from this spectacular day, however, a new ride, SheiKra, opening in Spring 2005 looks set to offer thrills not yet seen in any theme-park. A dive coaster, it will carry you up 200 feet at a 45 degree angle only to drop you at a rate of 70 mph back to the ground. Adult admission to Busch Gardens costs $53.95 (plus tax) while children's entry costs $44.95 (plus tax). Children aged two or under enter for free. In order to make your day as enjoyable as possible remember to bring comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate to the weather, insect repellent, sunscreen and a hat. |
